Scott Pelzel has been an Editor/After Effects Artist and Cinematographer for over 15 years. He is a native of Detroit, Michigan and began his career as a Camera Assistant. While freelancing for a friend’s production company shooting various projects, Scott began his editing career working on Avid and After Effects. He cut his teeth on industrials and commercials in Detroit and also shot and edited short films with friends which became weekend projects. Scott lived in Europe in 1996 where he shot and edited the German short film “Die Klavierspielrin” (The Piano Teacher) based on a novel written by famed Austrian writer Alfreda Jelinek. The short film won the Golden Leopard Award for best short film at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland in 1997.
Scott moved to New York City in 1998 and started to further his narrative and commercial work, editing national commercials for Victoria’s Secret, Ralph Lauren, CoverGirl, American Airlines and Macy’s as well as branded content for LG, United Arlines and JBL Sound systems. His narrative work includes short films and projects for MTV and Netflix including the series MTV World/Netflix series “Rebel Music” (2014), MTV Brazii show Ridículos (2016), VFX work on the upcoming Netflix series; “The Who Was Show” (2018).
Scott is experienced with Avid, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Mocha and the entire Adobe Creative Suite. He is fluent in Portuguese and divides his time between Brazil and NYC.
